Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James is honoring the late Nipsey Hussle during the team's opening night playoff game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

James is wearing “Crenshaw” shoes to pay homage to Nipsey Hussle, the influential hip-hop artist who was shot and killed outside his store in California last year.

The Lakers are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2013. LeBron James, meanwhile, returns to the postseason after missing it in 2019 for the first time since his second year in the NBA. That was during James' first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference standings. It should be interesting to see if James and Anthony Davis can lead the franchise to championship No. 17 at Disney World.

While both superstars struggled with their shots in the seeding games, neither James nor Davis sounded concerned about it.

James and NBA players celebrated what would have been Nipsey Hussle's 35th birthday last week.
