The All-Star break is over, and the Los Angeles Lakers are preparing for a strong push to make the playoffs in the final stretch of the season.

The Lakers are currently 10th in the Western Conference with a 28-29 record, and if the team's recent play is an indication of their future, a lot of experts and fans believe that the Purple and Gold's postseason drought will continue.

One of the people who think that there's a chance that the Lakers won't make the playoffs is former NBA player Matt Barnes, who was a guest in FOX Sports' show “Undisputed.”

The Lakers have been dealing with several issues all season long. From suspensions, injuries, and inconsistencies, Los Angeles has encountered them all.

However, when the Lakers were playing at almost full strength, they were one of the top four teams in the West. They made a statement last Christmas when they demolished the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, it was also during that game when LeBron James and Rajon Rondo suffered injuries that cost them to miss the entire month of January.

The team went downhill from there.

There are still 25 games left for Los Angeles, and as history suggests, LeBron usually raises his game to another level after the All-Star break. But it would take more than just James' greatness to will the Lakers into the postseason.

Guys like Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma will need to deliver more consistent numbers moving forward, and the rest of the team needs to step up if the Lakers really want to turn the season around.
