North American League of Legends is the latest region to get the new look treatment. Following LCK's branding update, the League Championship Series receives a brand new look and direction. The announcement also followed the new LCS tournament format changes. LCS commissioner Chris Greeley shed insight on the plan behind the rebranding.

“The main focus for us was to rebuild an identity that reaches all the facets across the LCS, from content to broadcast production to how we interact with the fans and the community, etc.”

It's an exciting time for NA LOL which has been left vacant of its long-time heroes. The new LCS look inspires the creation of new legends for the region that has yet to win a Worlds crown.

Something New

The LCS' new look comes two years after its sister EU league branched off and had a rebranding of its own. The new changes extend beyond the new logo look and affect all aspects of the broadcasting look of the LCS. Meanwhile, the region's best teams are gearing up for an exciting season. The new direction of the LCS pushed through in response to the departure of many of NA's iconic players.

“This is an inflection point, and with the retirement of stars like Bjergsen, Doublelift, or Sneaky last year, the rebrand serves as a great launching point to build new heroes and stars for the league.”

It certainly does feel like a brand new league. It's a new year and a new chance for the younger NA players to forge their own path towards the region's first world championship. There are no guarantees in League of Legends and in esports but the rebranding and refocusing of the League Championship Series is a welcome change of pace. Hopefully, the refreshing new look serves to inspire all teams in the region to bring the best they have to Summoner's Rift.
