Zodiac signs and ceramic collide in this artistic new Porcelain skin collection for Season 12. It will arrive alongside League of Legends Patch 12.2, set to go live on January 20, 2022. While the champions get a polished, pottery-inspired makeover, don't mistake them as fragile beings. Amumu, Ezreal, Kindred, Lissandra, and Lux are all threats to dish out the damage, amplified by the blend of blue and white and ornamental patterns in the skins' special effects. Check out the animations, particles, and vivid visuals of the upcoming Porcelain skins.

League of Legends Patch 12.2: Porcelain Skins

Porcelain Amumu (Zodiac: Rat)

The gloomy mummy transforms into a ceramic teapot in this new Amumu skin. The chinaware is brimming with brilliant blue magical power, very reminiscent of the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast. For the recall animation, Riot pulls off an adorable sequence of events: Amumu looks for a rat scampering around the surrounding porcelain set, gets his head stuck in one of them then unfortunately tumbles and cracks the ceramic.

The skin also has great sound effects, with every basic attack sounding similar to clanking pots. Amumu's Q also transforms into a golden thread, similar to curtain tassels, while the W creates what looks like a boiling pool beneath the champion thanks to the mix of smoke steaming out of the teapot's head and the use of color and shadow to create a ripple-like animation. The dark color scheme again appears for his ultimate, this time coinciding with a bright flash that sizzles outward from the center.

Porcelain Protector Ezreal (Zodiac: Tiger)

Ezreal's version of the Porcelain Skin does not have as much of a pottery feel to it compared to Amumu, at least for the splash art. Instead, the champion shows a fearsome aura with a raging tiger behind him, plus a beastly look for his gauntlet. We then see the ceramic in-game as part of his emotes, but the tiger makes a recurring appearance, coming out as a spirit animal during the recall animation. Ezreal's movements here are also more reminiscent of a wizard or genie, as he hovers and swirls around in the air.

His abilities get touched up with blue-violet particles and dazzling blue gradients, especially upon using Arcane Shift. Also, the Mystic Shot (Q) now fires off the tiger-gauntlet, leaving behind a light purple trail. Many would find that this combination of colors looks especially enchanting on the W, as the flux spins around the hit enemy. For the Trueshot Barrage, Ezreal lets his bow rip through the air, with medieval or noble-like designs similar to the one seen in the splash art.

Porcelain Kindred (Zodiac: Dog)

Ezreal had a tiger, Kindred unleashes the wolves. In the skin's splash art, a looming wolf also gets the Porcelain treatment, with the blue and white patterns appearing like a masked layer on the creature's face. Kindred's stance also gives off the impression of going on the hunt, complete with the koi fish (yin-yang) surrounding the champion, too. The wolf spirit is a prominent feature of the recall animation, showing Kindred defending against snakes popping up from the ground as wolf delivers the finishing blow.

Players will take a liking to the brilliant sheen that comes with Kindred's Q, especially when firing two at once. The W is a little on the underwhelming side, but the E offers much better graphics and animations—both during the spinning of the weapon and the marks that appear beneath the opponents. Finally, the ultimate shows off a masterful design, as a pool emerges with large koi meeting at the center. Of all the skins in this collection, Porcelain Kindred is arguably the best.

Porcelain Lissandra (Zodiac: Snake)

While Lissandra's theme revolves around ice, her Porcelain skin shifts the tide to ceramic spikes (much like an inverted crown) surrounding her feet—as if she's rising from broken pottery—with a snake silhouette slithering around her as well. For her recall animation, a porcelain jar appears and spits out a deep purple-colored snake. Her Q doesn't look too impressive at first glance, but it actually pierces through the enemy like broken pottery pieces (pause the video at 0:42 to get a good look).

A pool of dark indigo and light blues briefly surrounds Lissandra upon activating her W, before encasing the opponent with a mini version of the ceramic crown-spikes. Her Glacial Path undergoes a rather unique transformation, where instead of the claw, you get something like a disfigured porcelain piece. Frozen Tomb turns Lissandra into a tall kettle with snakes for handles and shards bursting in a ring-like manner from the center outward.

The Porcelain Lux skin, as well as the Prestige version, both bring bunnies to the champion. The main distinction is the design of the wand, with a flower base for the Porcelain Lux skin and a crescent moon for the Prestige edition—most evident in the spinning animation as the champion throws her wand into the air when recalling.

Instead of the usual rainbow binding, Lux's Q simmers with a deep violet-blue in the Porcelain skin and rose gold in the Prestige version. The difference in color palette continues for the rest of her abilities, making her shield more translucent with the violet outline but more of a glimmer in the Prestige style. These colors also create a mesmerizing appearance for Lux's E and R, with the ult firing brilliant hues from enlarged flower petals.
