After the Detroit Lions watched 2017 first-round pick Jarrad Davis get carted off the field, they witnessed 2018 first-round pick Frank Ragnow do the same. According to Detroit News' Justin Rogers, the center collided with a teammate before a Buffalo Bills defender rolled over his leg. Trainers were spotted looking at his knee.

Behind Ragnow on the depth chart is Leo Koloamatangi, an undrafted Hawaii product in 2018. After he left the game, the Lions inserted former center and current right guard Graham Glasgow at the position. Kenny Wiggins slid in as the right guard.

In 2018, the Lions set Ragnow at left guard. He played and started 16 games there. After his rookie year, the team moved him back to his college position, center.

According to Pro Football Focus, Ragnow allowed four sacks as a rookie in 2018 in 1,076 snaps. He recorded a 61.9 grade for the season and also saw six yellow flags thrown his way. The analytics firm is high on his move to the center, as they stated his college production at Arkansas as a reason why.

“The switch to center, if it indeed continues, is something that makes a lot of sense, especially when you breakdown his grades by position in college. Ragnow was utterly dominant in college and didn’t allow a single sack on 1,242 pass-blocking snaps in his collegiate career. He was particularly impressive at center though, producing a PFF grade of 92.5 on 1,530 snaps in the middle of the offensive line,” PFF's Gordon McGuiness said.

Big things are expected for Ragnow in 2019 at center. Hopefully, his injury isn't too serious; because all injuries suck, especially in the preseason.
