Aside from owning the Dallas Mavericks backcourt, Luka Doncic apparently also now owns the rights to being his teammate Jalen Brunson's father. The birth of Doncic's new son in Brunson came about after the two made a bet earlier this year in a fun game of FIFA to pass the time during quarantine.

The wager was that the winner would get a hand in deciding the loser's outfit for their next game. Doncic won the game and had an epic idea on what Brunson's pre-game fit.

It sure wasn't a great idea for Burnson to poke fun at Luka after he lost the game. After he lost the bet, Brunson posted on his Twitter account and mocked how Doncic had no idea who NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens was. Luka responded by simply saying that he'll get a custom one for Brunson and that he doesn't have to worry about it. And that is how we got to this point.

That sure didn't end well for Brunson.

Given that Brunson was still recovering from surgery when the NBA resumed in Orlando last season, Doncic had to wait until the 2020-21 preseason to pull off this crazy idea. It does seem that the wait was well worth it.

If there's anything good that Brunson can take away from this traumatic incident, it's that he's actually finally healthy and ready to play his third season for the Mavs this year. He would need to stay healthy and come back strong this season to help his father Doncic bring the Mavs back to the postseason.
