Free agent forward Aaron Gordon has agreed in principle to a deal with the Orlando Magic, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

Gordon entered free agency after the team failed to pick up his option this past season, despite impressing with the best season of his short career.

The athletic forward was hoping to quickly etch a max deal with the Magic, something the franchise gladly obliged.

Gordon posted a career-high 17.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting a career-best 33.6 percent from deep.

The Magic are expecting their best cog to keep on growing, still undecided whether he should play at the three- or four-spot in the future. If Gordon can develop his 3-point shooting into becoming a threat, he could slide into a modern slash-and-dash small forward, who can also kill teams from distance.
