Orlando Magic big man Jonathan Isaac will not play on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs because he has a sprained ankle.

Isaac rolled his ankle during the Magic’s City Edition uniform unveiling event Thursday night, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic:

Getting hurt at a team event is not something which happens normally. The Magic will surely miss Isaac and his production against the Spurs.

There's definitely some bad luck in-play here for Isaac. However, the Magic have to be happy that a more serious injury was avoided.

Orlando is 4-7 on the season. Isaac is averaging 12.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game for the Magic while shooting 49.5 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from beyond the arc and 91.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Making the playoffs last season for the first time since 2012 was a big step for the Magic. Now, Orlando is looking to win a playoff series. The Toronto Raptors defeated the Magic in the first round in five games during the 2019 postseason.

Isaac was the sixth overall pick in the 2017 draft. He played his college ball at Florida State. Entering Friday, the youngster has career averages of 8.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 113 games with Orlando. He has a bright future ahead of him if he can stay healthy.
