It appears Cristiano Ronaldo will not be leaving Juventus for Manchester City after all. Instead, it looks like Ronaldo could be headed toward a reunion with Manchester United.

Manchester City are now out of the talks for Ronaldo after it seemed like it was basically a done deal that he would be heading there, per Fabrizio Romano. With Man City out of the game, the Man U comeback is looking more and more like a potential reality. The club is preparing an offer for Ronaldo and is “confident” about their chances.

Ronaldo is apparently “open” to a return to Manchester United. The discussions involve a deal that goes through June 2023.

We know for sure that Ronaldo is leaving Juventus. Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri confirmed that Ronaldo told him he's out of there, and now it's just a matter of where he'll end up. All the signs were pointing toward Man City, but that has now fallen apart, giving Man U the opening to strike.

After starting his club career as a teenager at Sporting CP, Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United in 2003 and quickly made a name for himself. At the time, he was the most expensive teenage transfer in history and was the first Portuguese player in Man U history.

Ronaldo had a ton of success with Manchester United, leading them to a 2007-08 Champions League title as the top scorer and winning UEFA Club Footballer of the Year. He also won the 2008 Ballon d'Or (first Man U player to win it since 1968) and was named the 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year. The superstar led Manchester United to three consecutive Premier League titles.

Cristiano Ronaldo left Man U for Real Madrid in 2009 for what was a world record transfer fee at the time. The 36-year-old joined Juventus in 2018, and now he could be headed back to Manchester United.
