Martin Vettori and Israel Adesanya are set to clash in UFC 263 on Saturday in Glendale, Arizona and it will surely be a flat-out war. The Italian had some choice words for his middleweight rival ahead of the bout when speaking to TMZ on Thursday.

“There’s nobody that I would like to beat up more and I get to do it Saturday night. At the end of the day, I’m happy, I get to beat his ass and get his belt.”

Adesanya is the reigning middleweight champ ahead of UFC 263, but did lose to Jan Blachowicz in a light heavyweight fight in UFC 259. This isn’t the first time that Vettori and Adesanya are going head to head either, with the Kiwi beating his rival via split decision in 2018.

We all know that trash talk is a huge part of this sport, but it’s clear there is some bad blood between these two fighters. Vettori really wants the belt, while Adesanya will be looking to bounce back from the only defeat in his UFC career. The Italian has also won five straight fights since that loss to Adesanya.
