The new Dallas Mavs head coach Jason Kidd has had an interesting journey so far in his coaching career. After serving as an elite point guard in the NBA, Kidd has been on a roller coaster as far as coaching goes. His longest tenure as a head coach so far is with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he was with the organization from 2014-2018.

He was eventually fired from that job which led to him becoming an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers then eventually becoming the Dallas Mavericks' new head coach this offseason. However, it's coming out that Kidd was an apparent madman during his time with the Bucks. In a book titled, Giannis: The Improbable Rise of an NBA MVP, the author Mirin Fader claims that Kidd had forced his Bucks team to cancel their Christmas flights to practice after a tough loss.

It goes further, as Kidd apparently ridiculed Larry Sanders during practice. Many of the players on the roster were fed up with Jason Kidd, which likely resulted in his firing in 2018. He's known to be a hard-nosed coach, but this is taking it a bit extreme. Hopefully, the Mavs know exactly what they're getting themselves into after hiring Kidd as their new head coach after Rick Carlisle's departure.

We'll see how this affects Kidd's tenure with the Mavericks, if at all. However, it is something to take note of. Many believed Kidd was a great coach for that Bucks team as he played an important role in the development of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. Now, his firing from Milwaukee makes much more sense as it sounds like he created an unwelcome environment for the Bucks at the time.

Keep an eye on the Mavs for now, as drama between Luka Doncic and Jason Kidd could develop if the new head coach goes back to these antics. As of now, this isn't anything for Mavs fans to worry about, as Jason Kidd may have changed his ways.
