The Dallas Mavericks landed big man Kristaps Porzingis in a deal with the New York Knicks prior to the Feb. 7 trade deadline, resulting in a very intriguing young duo of Porzingis and Luka Doncic.

Now, Porzingis probably won't play at all this season as he recovers from a torn ACL he suffered last February, but it's hard not to be fascinated by the potential of the tandem of The Unicorn and Luka.

Count Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant as one of the many people who are excited to watch the European duo next season:

“I’m glad Porzingis is in a better place,” Durant said, according to Mark Medina of The Mercury News. “I’m looking forward to seeing him and Luka (Doncic) play there for years to come.”

Of course, the biggest question mark is Porzingis' health.

The 23-year-old tore his ACL last February, and prior to that injury, the Latvian had dealt with a whole lot of nicks and bruises since entering the NBA during the 2015-16 campaign, leading many to believe that the center is simply injury prone.

Porzingis was originally selected by the Knicks with the fourth overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft, a move that was instantly met with boos and contention from New York fans.

However, it did not take long for Porzingis to win Knicks fans over. On the other side of the coin, it did not take long for bad blood to form between Porzingis and New York's front office, leading to the 7-foot-3 star to ask for a trade this season.
