Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are finally getting back on track with another huge win against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.

After the final buzzer went off, Doncic grabbed the ball and threw it to the stands. The 21-year-old Mavs star was rather ecstatic that his team escaped with a 119-118 win over Trae Young and the visiting Hawks.

ā€œI was really relieved,ā€ Doncic said after the win, via Callie Caplan of Dallas Morning News. ā€œI was so happy when they missed a shot to get us back on a winning track. We're just getting started. We keep improving every game.ā€

It was definitely a scary few seconds in the Hawks' final possession, as Young and Co. had a chance to steal the game with a few seconds left on the clock. On the inbounds play, Trae dropped on the floor on a controversial no-call, which put the ball in the hands of Danilo Gallinari who missed a mid-range shot in the dying seconds. This gave Luka Doncic and the Mavs their third straight win as they slowly build their chemistry and get back on track.

Doncic was huge once again for head coach Rick Carlisle, as he posted another triple-double performance with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. He now leads the league with a total of seven triple-doubles almost halfway through the season.

The year hasn't started ideally for the Mavs after they dropped a ton of games, including a six-game losing slump in late January. Doncic, though, believes that his Dallas team is just getting started. Now, he is hoping that their offense and, more importantly, their defense get rolling as they get back to their winning ways.
