Jason Kidd is officially the Dallas Mavericks‘ new head coach, and franchise owner Mark Cuban is excited for what he will bring to the Mavs and to superstar Luka Doncic.

Speaking to TMZ after the hiring, Cuban shared his belief that Kidd will have a big impact on the organization, specifically on Doncic who can improve his playmaking and pick the brain of one of the best pure point guards in the history of the NBA.

“I'm excited about it, obviously,” Cuban said. “J. Kidd is going to be great for us. He's going to be great for Luka, for the organization. I'm really excited.”

Mark Cuban also emphasized the Mavs' desire to win the NBA championship, which the team last won in 2011 with Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd leading the way. For Cuban, that is the “whole idea” behind the Kidd hiring.

“We've got the talent,” the Mavs boss furthered. “I think we'll get better talent. We'll keep on getting better. Luka will keep on getting better. And, I think Jason will help Luka and the team get better.”

Kidd definitely has a tough task at hand, as he inherits a team with a young superstar in Luka Doncic and a franchise with title aspirations. The development of the Slovenian playmaker will be critical in his success, though it is quite clear how he can take Doncic's game to the next level.

Luka's playmaking and decision-making can only improve with Kidd at the helm, and the new coach should only help him mature even more as an NBA guard.

All eyes will be on Kidd in his first season with the Mavs, and sure enough, every Dallas fan is hoping he is the right man the team needs to get to that next level after two years of first-round exits.
