The season is virtually over for Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic. Unless the Mavs pull off a miraculous comeback that's never been done in NBA history, they'll be heading to the offseason sooner rather than later.

Luka Doncic spoke candidly on the situation at hand and the Game 3 loss that led up to it. While they now face near insurmountable odds, the Mavs star sees this as just the beginning.

Via Callie Caplan:

“The first three quarters, I played very bad. That’s on me,” said the Mavs superstar. “I’m still learning. I think after this season is done, whenever we are, I’m going to look back and learn a lot of things. This is my first conference finals in NBA. I’m 23, man. I’m still learning a lot.”

Dallas has now made the playoffs three times in a row and looks to be perennial postseason contenders for the next decade. As long as Doncic is on the roster, it's a foregone conclusion. The challenge is to build a team around him that can get to the next level. Finding another star player to help lighten his burden should be priority number one.

Luka Doncic knows that this is just the start of his journey towards climbing the NBA mountaintop.
