Winning is fun, and Luka Doncic suggested as much after leading the Dallas Mavericks to a 143-130 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday.

After suffering from a six-game slump that saw the Mavs fell all the way to 14th in the Western Conference standings, Luka and Co. are now back in the playoff hunt following four straight victories. The win against the Pelicans brought Dallas' record to 13-14 as they remain 11th and just one and a half game behind the eighth seed.

Following the Mavs' high-scoring affair with New Orleans, Luka was asked about the clear newfound joy he has about playing. It is worth noting that the Slovenian guard showed his frustration amid their losing streak, with some critics also bringing up his recent increased whining.

According to the 21-year-old though, winning brought back the fun in NBA basketball.

“I would say winning. We got rolling. That's four in a row. That's it. We get paid to win the game. That's what we're doing right now. We've just got to keep going like this,” Luka Doncic said on why he is having more fun in recent games with the Mavs, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

Against the Pelicans, the Mavs star scored a career-high 46 points. Luka also almost finished with a near triple-double with eight rebounds and 12 assists.

Doncic got some help though, with Kristaps Porzingis banking 36 points and seven rebounds on 8-of-13 shooting from 3-point territory. Jalen Brunson also played well with 13 points, six boards and seven dimes.
