With the Dallas Mavericks set to face off against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, Hawks head coach Lloyd Piere provided some interesting insight about Mavs superstar Luka Doncic. Pierce shared why he believes trying to bully Doncic on the basketall court is never a good idea.

According to Pierce, taking on this tactic against Doncic likely won't end well for opposing teams:

“[If] you think you're just going to bully and rattle him, it actually builds more of his strength, his confidence, his dominance,” Pierce said, via Callie Caplan of the Dallas News.

We see no lies here. Doncic's rather unathletic built coupled with his child-like facial features makes it easy to assume that you can bully your way against this kid. Well, take Pierce's word for it — this certainly isn't going to be the case.

Doncic has been nothing short of outstanding for the Mavs to start the 2020-21 season. The 21-year-old has picked up right where he left off last term and is currently averaging 27.3 points (on 46.4 percent shooting), 9.0 rebounds, 9.4 assists, and 1.0 steals, while also knocking down 2.1 triples per contest. He's been one of the top players in the NBA early in the season, and it would not be surprising if Doncic manages to enter the MVP conversation towards the latter part of the campaign.

Despite his heroics, though, the Mavs are in a real slump right now. Doncic and Co. have lost six straight games dating back from January 23. Needless to say, they enter Wednesday's contest against the Hawks in desperate need of a win.
