Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel will make a decision regarding their starting quarterback position on Monday Night, according to Turron Davenport of ESPN. The team benched Marcus Mariota in favor of Ryan Tannehill during their 16-0 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Titans trailed the Broncos 13-0 before Vrabel elected to bench Mariota in favor of Tannehill. The performance that Mariota was providing was underwhelming as he completed only seven of his 18 pass attempts resulting in a 38.9 percent completion percentage. His throws resulted in just 63 yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions, and a troubling 9.5 passer rating.

Mariota even admitted to reporters that he was ‘inaccurate' on his throws and that he must ‘do a better job.'

“I was inaccurate today, and I didn’t give our guys a chance to make plays and that’s some of the reasons I got pulled,” Mariota said, via the team’s website. “It starts with me — I have to do a better job.”

After entering the lineup, Tannehill managed to complete 13 of his 16 passing attempts, which was good for a completion percentage of 81.3 percent. He totaled 144 yards through the air but ultimately failed to record a touchdown and threw an interception.

Replacing Mariota was ‘tough' for Tannehill, but he expressed that he has a ‘good relationship' with Mariota and that made replacing him ‘somewhat tolerable.'

“These things are tough, no matter how you cut it,” Tannehill said, according to Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ team website. “I think the only thing that makes it somewhat tolerable is we do have a good relationship and we have a ton of respect for each other. I have a ton of respect for Marcus. It’s a tough situation all around.”

The Titans are set to face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7 but it remains to be seen who will be starting at quarterback for that matchup.
