The Minnesota Vikings made it back to the playoffs in 2019, but they still fell short of their ultimate goal, winning the Super Bowl. They had a lot of strong parts of the offense, but they also had some key holes that really need to be addressed this offseason.

Let's break down three major needs that need to be fixed before the 2020 season.

3. Cornerback

The Vikings might have just a little need or a major need at cornerback, depending on some offseason decisions. Xavier Rhodes really struggled, and the team can save some cap space by cutting him. Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander are both set to be free agents, and if the team brings him back it's probably going to take a bigger contract.

Holton Hill and Kris Boyd are young and could possibly start next year, but if that's what the team is counting on as starters heading into next season, the Vikings are going to be in trouble.

2. The Vikings Need A Third Wide Receiver

Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs are under contract for the next couple of years and everyone knows how good they are. Outside of Thielen and Diggs, the team didn't get a whole lot of production out of the wide receiver spot.

Bisi Johnson was the team's third-leading wide receiver, catching 31 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns. The team probably won't have the money to spend during free agency on this position, but it's a loaded position in the draft. How good would Minneapolis' own Tyler Johnson look in the purple and gold?

The team needs to spend a second or third-round pick on a wideout.

1. Offensive Line

The offensive line looked really good at times, but during the biggest games, they disappeared. Against the Packers in a must-win game during Week 16, they couldn't keep Kirk Cousins upright, and the same thing happened in the Divisional Round of the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers.

Brian O'Neill is the stud of the offensive line, and it's too early to give up on rookie Garrett Bradbury. Outside of those two, the team can make upgrades at all the other spots.

They are probably going to need to get creative with the Vikings' lack of cap space, as Spotrac.com estimates the Vikings will be almost $5 million over the cap.

Maybe swinging a trade to get a replacement could work, but the team is probably going to need to spend some money to get a quality upgrade.
