The MLB trade deadline is fast approaching and names have circulated left and right. From the obvious ones such as Kris Bryant and Joey Gallo, and an unlikely candidate in Max Scherzer, there could be a ton of movement. As far as the Cleveland Indians are concerned, they have a decision to make regarding slugger Jose Ramirez, although it doesn't look like they will include him in a trade anytime soon.

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, it would have to be a massive deal.

“…The Indians do not plan to move him unless they are “overwhelmed.”

Fellow MLB Insider Jon Heyman said that isn't a surprise, but there is some sort of surprise from the Indians' perspective.

“Not a surprise Indians would have to be overwhelmed to trade José Ramirez. More interesting that he isn’t untouchable.”

Case and point. It appears that Ramirez is available, to an extent. Ramirez is having another stellar season for the Indians. He has slashed 19 home runs with 52 RBIs and has a .257 batting average. However, the Indians being sellers is due to their second-place standing in the American League Central.

The Chicago White Sox lead the Indians by eight games, and to make matters worse, the Indians are 3,5 games back of a wild card spot. So yes, they could definitely sell, although it would need to be huge for Ramirez to leave town, at least this time through the MLB trade deadline.
