Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was the next NBA player to get his rating revealed in the upcoming basketball video game NBA 2K19 after 20th Anniversary Edition cover athlete LeBron James was rated a 98, the first rating revealed to the public.

Tatum was highly-regarded by the 2K staff, rated an 87 to start off the season.

Tatum blew fans' expectations through the roof during his rookie season, not only being named a starter on a stacked roster, but delivering when it counted the most in their playoff run, stepping up as the team's leading scorer and one that will likely become one of the league's top scorers.

The soon-to-be second-year player finished third in the Rookie of the Year race against eventual winner Ben Simmons and runner-up Donovan Mitchell, but it was Tatum who made the deepest postseason run, coming a win shy of the NBA Finals.

Simmons and Mitchell could see similarly high ratings, ones that could prove prisoner of the moment with a rather short sample size.

Tatum averaged only 13.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 43.4 percent from deep in his rookie season, but put his game in overdrive in the playoffs after losing Kyrie Irving to a season-ending knee injury.
