Former University of Virginia forward De'Andre Hunter is officially headed to the Atlanta Hawks.

On Thursday evening, the Hawks selected the former Cavaliers standout with the No. 4 overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft after a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.

A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the up-and-coming swingman stands at 6-foot-7 and weighs 225 pounds. A versatile two-way player during his collegiate playing days at Virginia, the 21-year-old will now attempt to make a seamless transition to the pro level.

In his two years in Virginia, Hunter averaged 12.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists. He was a pivotal member of Virginia's 2019 NCAA title run, putting up 15.2 points, 5.1 boards and 2.o assists in the 2018-19 campaign.

Thanks to his size, versatility and massive wingspan, Hunter has the ability to play and defend multiple positions. Poised and controlled while on the floor, many consider Hunter to be one of the top talents in this year's NBA Draft talent pool.

Although he is still young, De'Andre Hunter's ability to remain cool, calm and collected screams maturity — a necessary trait for a guard who will most likely handle the ball most of the time and will be under immense pressure.

Of course, the New Orleans Pelicans initially kicked things off by selecting former Duke Blue Devils big man Zion Williamson with the No. 1 overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft.
