The NBA is planning a Draft Combine process beginning later this month and it will reportedly be in two parts, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

On Thursday, the league held a call with its Board of Governors and many details were discussed about the 2020 draft and the 2020-21 season.

The NBA is planning a Draft Combine process beginning later this month and in two parts:

— Mid-September to early October: In-market medical exams and on-court drills and virtual interviews.

— Mid-October to Draft date: Teams will be able to conduct in-person interviews with prospects — but no workouts.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. They are followed by the Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers to round out the top five.

It’s going to be fascinating to see who the Timberwolves will take with the No. 1 overall pick. The franchise needs another dynamic player next to All-Stars Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell.

The NBA has done a terrific job with the Walt Disney bubble, as there have been zero positive COVID-19 tests since the games started in late July. With that said, odds are commissioner Adam Silver and Co. will make the right and safe decision when it comes to the 2020 draft and the overall 2020-21 campaign.
