The Dallas Mavericks turned down a proposal by the Atlanta Hawks to move up the NBA Draft. The Hawks had darted a potential swap of lefty wing Kent Bazemore and the No. 3 overall pick for veteran Mavs marksman Wesley Matthews and the No. 5 pick, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

The deal would be asking the Mavs to pay a whopping $19.3 million in salary difference in order to move up in the draft.

The Hawks were also asking for future draft picks, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon — making the deal that much more unrealistic.

Dallas is reportedly feeling “comfortable” drafting at No. 5, with a variety of prospects that can help the team moving forward.

The Mavs have eyed center Mo Bamba, as well as workout darling Michael Porter Jr., who could climb into the top-five of this draft if a team chooses to take a gamble on his health after his camp sent out a clean report after meeting with several doctors after his second workout.
