Could Kawhi Leonard end up staying in Toronto after all? ESPN's Brian Windhorst seems to think so.

Windhorst noted that Leonard had talked to Kevin Durant about teaming up this offseason, and the only place that could have happened was on the Los Angeles Clippers.

He then added that things seem to be lining up for Leonard to return to the Raptors on a one-year deal before re-evaluating the Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers next summer.

Windhorst said that Leonard would prefer the Clippers add another star before he heads there.

So, reading between the lines of what Windhorst is saying, it kind of sounds like Leonard absolutely favors playing for the Clippers, which was what most felt throughout the season all along.

However, it seems contingent on the Clips adding another big piece.

If this is all true, it doesn't sound too good for the Lakers, as they already have two superstars in place in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, so if Leonard wanted to play with another star (or two), he could just sign there.

Regardless, this is shaping up to be one of the most interesting free-agent decisions in recent memory, and that is saying a lot given everything that has transpired over the past several years.

Leonard spent the first seven years of his career with the San Antonio Spurs, winning a championship in 2014. However, due to a disconnect between Leonard and the Spurs franchise over his quad injury last year, he demanded a trade and was eventually dealt to Toronto last summer.

He then went on to win a championship with the Raptors this season.
