The NBA has set strict guidelines for all players, staff, and guests while residing in the campus in Orlando — the bubble location for the resumption of the 2019-20 season.

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, players, team staff, and guests will be required to “certify in writing” that they will follow all rules and guidelines while in the bubble location.

Failure to comply will warrant sanctions such as a warning, fine, suspension, and/or possible expulsion from the campus.

In addition, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, players and team staff will not be permitted to leave the campus except due to extenuating circumstances such as team-directed medical care to be held off-campus, childbirth, severe illness, death in the family, or family wedding.

The NBA has announced that the 2019-20 season will tentatively restart on July 31. Since this announcement, they have ramped up the process of securing a bubble location, had numerous conversations with team owners, players, and staff. Apart from this, they have teamed up with medical experts to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the league.

The guidelines set thus far strongly suggest that the league is not taking any chances. After all, if a player or a staff contracts the coronavirus, then it may signal the end of the 2019-20 season once and for all.

The league has also made it clear that while they already have a set date, the future of the 2019-20 season pretty much still hangs in the balance. Given the various health, socio-political, socio-economic crises in the US all over the world, there can be no guarantees.
