Enes Kanter says he signed with the Portland Trail Blazers instead of the Los Angeles Lakers because he wanted to be “drama-free.”

After he got waived by the New York Knicks, Kanter received interest from multiple teams, including the Lakers. The big man signed with the Blazers and it looks like he made the right choice.

Portland is on its way to the playoffs, while the Lakers aren't. Kanter says all the drama which he saw happening in Los Angeles from afar was something he didn't think would be good for him.

After the Lakers' failed attempt to trade for New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis, there was a lot of awkwardness in Los Angeles.

The Lakers basically made every player on the team available except for LeBron James. Enes Kanter saw that the chemistry in LA wasn't good, so he chose to sign with the Blazers, who have one of the best locker rooms in the NBA.

In six games with Portland, Kanter is averaging 11.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest. The 26-year-old is shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line. The Blazers are 5-1 with Kanter in the lineup.

This season has just been a disaster for the Lake Show.
