NBA league executives are continuing to monitor the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis sweeping the world.

Per ESPN senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the  NBA and its Board of Governors are set to go on call on Tuesday.

The group will reportedly discuss information concerning the pandemic and discuss, analyze and eventually make decisions concerning the status of the league.

Tim Reynolds of ESPN also clarified that the executives will still be following strict social distancing protocols and conduct the meeting by phone.

The NBA’s decision to suspend the 2019-20 campaign started a domino effect on other major sporting leagues across the globe.

Following the positive results for coronavirus of Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert, the league decided to postpone the scheduled games altogether to avoid getting more players infected. Two other NBA athletes tested positive, including Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell and Detroit Pistons center Christian Wood.

Commissioner Silver, meanwhile, confirmed that NBA action will likely be halted for at least 30 days depending on how the virus will be contained. However, it could be extended for up to two months given the recent CDC recommendation of no events with 50-plus people for the next eight weeks.

The league will likely push through with their initial plan of holding closed-door matches prior to announcing the suspension.

A separate report from Woj also claimed that the league will be looking to hold games in smaller venues — particularly practice facilities for the meantime.

The entire world, meanwhile,  is still engulfed in terror as the pandemic continues to spread at an alarming rate. It remains uncertain when this whole crisis will be resolved, but the NBA is making sure it will be ready once this all boils down
