Originally the No. 21 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, Boris Diaw has established himself as a strong role player. After successful stints with the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs, Diaw is still an unrestricted free agent following just one season with the Utah Jazz.

With teams currently filling out the remainder of their training camp rosters, the 35-year-old is remaining optimistic but may consider returning to Europe according to Christophe Remise of Le Figaro:

“I won't close any door” the French forward told Le Figaro. “I will be in the NBA next season? I don’t have a club yet. I have a few contacts with teams but nothing concrete. So I am not sure I will be in the NBA 100% next season. A return to Europe? It may happen” Diaw added.

Despite starting 33 of the 73 games for head coach Quin Snyder, the Jazz decided to go a different route by signing Ekpe Udoh and Jonas Jerebko in free agency. As most teams have already set their roster for the 2017-18 NBA season, it will be interesting to see if Diaw finds an opportunity.

For the Jazz, they enter the new season with uncertainty. After Gordon Hayward signed with the Boston Celtics, Snyder and company are hoping Rodney Hood can become the team's top scoring option while adding role players.
