As a guest on New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard JJ Redick's podcast, NBA legend Dwyane Wade told an epic Kobe Bryant story from the 2008 Olympics.

Wade, who had a very close relationship with Bryant, revealed to Redick that Bryant's workout habits were no joke and showed just how much of a “monster” and “beast” he really was:

Behind Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, Team USA won the 2008 Olympics after the Americans underwhelmed in 2004. It was during that summer Kobe, Wade and LeBron formed a brotherhood.

Bryant, universally recognized as the second-best shooting guard in NBA history behind only Michael Jordan, actually shoved his Lakers teammate during the 2008 Olympics. Pau Gasol was playing for Spain in the Summer Games, and Bryant wanted to send a message to the Spaniard that just because they were teammates on the Lakers didn't mean he wasn't going to go at him in the Summer Games.

While it still doesn't feel real that Bryant is no longer with us, these types of stories such as the Wade anecdote will certainly keep his legacy and spirit alive.

During his legendary run with the Lakers, Bryant averaged 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He won five championships, two Finals MVPs, one regular-season MVP and two scoring titles.

Kobe Bryant, along with Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.
