The Orlando Magic just made franchise history against the Charlotte Hornets … but it’s something they would want to forget soon.

After their opening-night victory against the Miami Heat, the Magic are on the receiving end of an “L” this time around as the Hornets held them to just 10 points in the first quarter of their match — which is Orlando’s lowest-scoring first quarter at home in 18 years.

Only Nikola Vucevic (four points), D.J Augustin, Terrence Ross, and Jonathon Simmons scored in the opening frame for the Magic, allowing the Hornets to finish the quarter 22-10. Aaron Gordon and Mo Bamba, who led Orlando against the Heat, both went scoreless in the first period.

The 10-point outing in the first quarter is Orlando’s lowest at home since the 1999-00 season. In an April 2000 game against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Magic made just nine points to open their account and eventually lost the match.

Orlando wound up losing against the Hornets, 120-88. Kemba Walker paced the scoring for both teams with 26 markers. And after such horrendous opener, no Magic player scored more than 15 points in the game.

The Magic aren't expected to break out this season. After a solid opener, things have corrected themselves. However, no one saw this bad of a performance coming from Orlando.
