The preliminary results of the 2020 NBA All-Star ballot came out recently, and it's not an exaggeration to say that there are people mad about how the preliminary results are shaping up so far. There are bizarre selections that confuse fans to no end, and Jeff Van Gundy is one of the people who think that these results are preposterous.

Jeff Van Gundy blasted some voters in a rant during the Rockets-Sixers broadcast about the fans' ability to influence the ballots and how it should be taken more seriously.

Van Gundy is most likely talking about the inclusion of Alex Caruso and Tacko Fall to the All-Star lists. The two are beloved by fans across the league for their stories, but their style of play doesn't exactly scream All-Star material. Fall has only played 11 minutes of NBA action in his career so far; Caruso is getting more minutes, but his numbers (5.4 points. 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists) are far from All-Star material.

Everyone gets that these two were voted just because they were so fond of them. No one in their right mind was making a serious vote with this one. It's quite similar to the ones Zaza Pachulia got during the latter years of his career as a rotation man for the Golden State Warriors.  However, it did take away the spot from players who deserved it more than they did. There are plenty of talented players in the NBA that wasting one spot for a joke vote is grinding Van Gundy's gears.

Fortunately, such a problem is not seen at the top of the ballots. Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and LeBron James have all gotten more than 1,000,000 All-Star nods from NBA fans all over the world.
