Former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins says if Brooklyn Nets superstar small forward Kevin Durant doesn't want to be his friend anymore, that's on the two-time Finals MVP.

Perkins and Durant used to be very close. However, their relationship has soured ever since KD joined the Golden State Warriors in 2016 and Big Perk became a media member with ESPN.

On Wednesday, Durant retweeted a video on NBA Twitter which mocked Perkins' basketball skills. KD also called Perkins a sellout for his harsh criticism of Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving.

During an interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy, Perkins addressed his relationship with Durant:

“I mean listen. One thing about it is, I’ve been the same person that I’ve been in the league,” Kendrick Perkins said.

“I’ve been outspoken, I’ve been a leader, I’ve been the same guy that you see on TV, I’ve been the same person that I’ve been in the NBA. So, at the end of the day guess what? If Kevin Durant chooses not to be my friend, that’s on him. Because every other person that I befriended in the NBA, I’m still cool with to this day. I can still pick up the phone and call them.”

It doesn't appear Durant and Perkins are going to patch things up anytime soon, especially since the latter has been bashing Irving left and right.

KD and Irving are not only teammates on the Nets, but the NBA superstars are supposedly best friends off the court as well.

So, it wasn't a surprise to see Durant back up Irving.
