Gervonta Davis vs. Rolando Romero was one of the most hyped-up boxing matches of 2022. Davis (who goes by the nickname “Tank”) had his eyes set on Romero's WBA lightweight belt. Many sporting fans, including a few NBA players, tuned it for the epic clash of the ages.
In the end, it was Gervonta Davis who walked out the winner of the contest, KO-ing Romero in the sixth round. Davis' big win prompted a lot of reactions from NBA stars. Grizzlies star Ja Morant (who was rooting for Davis, as always) talked a little smack with the still-woozy Romero.
ayee dat boy still drunk 😂😂😂

Kevin Durant, on the other hand, cautioned everyone about Gervonta Davis' nasty left fist. The NBA star said:
Nobody better…. That left is a missle. Stay away. ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

It was an incredible fight from both fighters, one that the NBA player base clearly appreciated. This fight was very nearly cancelled due to several issues outside the ring. However, the clash was finally given the green light this year, and it did not disappoint at all. Both men performed admirably. In the end, though, it was “Tank” Davis' meaty left swing that ended Romero's undefeated streak and his title reign.
