Orlando Magic swingman Terrence Ross posted a not-so-subtle dig at Miami Heat President Pat Riley following his ill-advised comments about the Los Angeles Lakers' 2020 NBA championship.

The legendary executive recently claimed that the Lakers' win came with an asterisk, considering that key Heat players Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic battled injuries throughout the series.

Ross commented on an Instagram post by Bleacher Report about Riley's hot take. While the 6-foot-6 high-leaper did not use his words, Ross chose to answer with an interesting choice of “salt” emojis to describe the reaction of the NBA exec.

Pat Riley, of course, later clarified that he meant no disrespect to the Lakers' championship run. Still, Terrence Ross echoed a lot of Lakers fans' sentiments about the matter. It has been two weeks since the Purple and Gold edged out the Heat in six games, and it looks like Riley is pretty angsty after his team fell short for the NBA title.

Ross' Magic team, meanwhile, does have some sort of inter-state rivalry with the South Beach-based franchise, so that might have something to do with his retort against Riley. The Heat did have the upper hand against Orlando this season after winning the Eastern Conference.

While the Magic were informal hosts of the bubble season inside Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, they bowed out early in the playoffs after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in five games. The eighth-seeded Magic team surprised the Milwaukee Bucks by taking Game 1 but got blitzed in the next four games.

As for Ross, he had a down year shooting the ball from downtown this season. He made 35.1  percent of his triples in the 2019-20 NBA campaign and notched 14.7 points in 69 games. It remains unclear if Riley did get a wind of Ross' jab, but the Heat executive will surely remember this for a long time.
