The NBA has taken over the famous social platform Reddit by ranking second in the list of the most active subreddits. Discussions among Redditors have been poring over the recent free agency and draft acquisitions this offseason. But with big names already off the free agent board, there's not much to talk about in the NBA this summer.
That could be the reason why a certain Redditor has recently proposed an expansion option for the NBA to take in case they wanted to add another team to the mix.
Through its broadening reach around the world, there are rumors in the recent years that the league has been considering on adding another team from Europe. However, Commissioner Adam Silver has since abolished those talks by citing travel as the main issue that will hamper the inter-continental expansion.
Despite that, this Redditor is still adamant in his desire to see another team in the NBA. He brought the idea to greater heights (literally) and humorously enumerated reasons why the moon can have a worthy NBA team playing for them.
The moon's low gravity is the main ingredient as it will give the fans an entertaining show of a SlamBall-based style of game where players would be able to jump higher and attempt more dunks in the process. This will also usher in a new take for a Space Jam sequel to the delight of millions of fans given the recent rumors of a Space Jam 2 movie with LeBron James in the starring role.
Funny as it seems, this Reddit post also implies a greater need for NBA fans: for the 2018-19 season to come sooner.
