We're just a quarter through the 2021-22 regular season but already, the MVP picture is beginning to take shape. It might be way too early right now, but at this point, Hall of Fame big man Shaquille O'Neal has already declared his favorite to bag the coveted award.

At the moment, Shaq has no doubt that Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is the clear frontrunner for the MVP title:

“Right now he is the clear favorite for the MVP. Crystal clear,” Shaq stated plainly (h/t Joey Linn of FanNation).

Our friends over at FanDuel agree with Shaq's assertion here. They too have Curry as the favorite to win the MVP award with +150 odds. Steph's former teammate in Kevin Durant, who now plies his trade with the Brooklyn Nets, is a distant second with +500 odds. Reigning league MVP Nikola Jokic (+1300), Luka Doncic (+2400), and Paul George (+3000) respectively round out the Top 5.

If Curry carries on with his insane form then he should be a runaway for the MVP title. This would be his third trophy after winning back-to-back in 2015 and 2016. Incidentally, the Warriors went all the way to the Finals on both of Curry's MVP seasons, and they won the championship in 2015. Could this be a sign of things to come for the Dubs this year?
