Veteran NBA center Joakim Noah is reportedly waiting for an injury possibility with the the Los Angles Lakers or Los Angeles Clippers, according to Sam Smith of Bulls.com.

Noah is having a private workout for NBA teams either this week or next. The Dallas Mavericks have been in touch with the former Florida Gator after losing Dwight Powell to a season-ending Achilles injury on Tuesday:

I saw Thursday with Powell’s injury rumors about Dallas’ interest. I heard Joakim Noah was having a private workout for NBA teams either this week or next. He seems ready to play, though I’ve heard he’s been waiting for an injury possibility with the Lakers or Clippers. Not wishing, mind you, but things happen. They haven’t yet. He seems set on playing for a high level contending team or not playing.

Noah played 42 games for the Memphis Grizzlies last season. He averaged 7.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 51.6 percent from the field.

Noah worked out for the Lakers after LA lost DeMarcus Cousins to an ACL tear. The Lakers wound up signing Dwight Howard over Noah and Marreese Speights.

Noah, a former All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year, has career NBA averages of 8.8 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 667 games with the Chicago BullsNew York Knicks and Grizzlies.
