With the trade deadline fast approaching, the New York Knicks can explore their options with their sought-after forward Marcus Morris Sr. The despondent franchise, however, is reportedly considering keeping him, per Ian Begley of SNY.

The 30-year-old stretch-forward has garnered a lot of interest from contenders this season, after averaging career-highs of 19.2 points and 5.5 rebounds on 43.8 percent shooting from the field and a 43.9 percent success rate from three-point territory in 41 games for the Knicks.

Powerhouse teams like the  Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly aggressively pursuing a trade for the former Kansas product, and are even willing to throw in a late first-round pick for his services. With his trade value at an all-time high, this will be the best time for the Knicks to unload Morris.

The Clippers' interest to add Morris is also pretty clear, especially with the ongoing fiasco with their slotman Motrezl Harrell.

With New York once again lottery-bound after accumulating a 13-16 slate (13th place in the East), pundits believe the team can get some great value from Morris.

Apart from his stellar play this year, Morris' current one-year $15M contract makes him all the more desirable for contending teams.

But the Knicks remain skeptical of parting ways with the 6-foot-8 forward, who is currently their top scorer. His inflated numbers will definitely take a drastic hit if he joins a contender. Morris is still more suited as a reliable Three-and-D rather than the focal point on offense.

The Knicks also have an abundance of players at the four position, with guys like Julius Randle, Taj Gibson, and Bobby Portis ready to take Morris' place in the event that he is traded to the Clippers or other teams.
