Andre Drummond is among the most high-profile names available for trade prior to the Feb. 6 deadline. Yet the interest in the Detroit Pistons star center could linger until the last minute, considering the Atlanta Hawks, among other interested teams, have only been willing to offer expiring contracts to take him off the team's hands, according to James Edwards III of The Athletic.

According to an earlier report by Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Hawks had not been willing to attach first-round compensation to their deal, otherwise, they would have had a willing partner and Drummond would be on his way to a physical examination with his new team. Though it seems the Hawks aren't the only team reluctant to shell out a first-rounder, as suitors have yet to gauge any future commitment past this season — making him merely a gamble.

Because of this development, any interest for Drummond is likely to drag out for another four weeks, making the sense of urgency the most important factor in negotiations.

The Pistons are determined to deal Drummond, as they could risk losing him for nothing at the end of the season. The 6-foot-11 big man has expressed his desire to forgo the last year of his deal and test free agency this upcoming summer, making it imperative to get something in return instead.

Detroit has been confident it can find a home for Drummond before the deadline, but the conditions of this deal have yet to be met by inquiring teams, who have concerns of their own.
