The NBA Board of Governors voted 29-1 to approve the sale of the Charlotte Hornets to new owners Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin, and the one vote against the sale was from New York Knicks owner James Dolan, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

James Dolan has gotten a lot of attention over the years, and not always for good reasons. Knicks fans have not been fans of him over the years because of long stretches of bad play from the team, and some stuff off of the court.

The ownership change means that Michael Jordan is no longer going to be involved with the Hornets. Despite being viewed as the greatest player in the history of the league by many, Michael Jordan's ownership tenure has not garnered a lot of praise.

This vote is another instance of Dolan going against the grain, and it sure has garnered attention. Let's get to some of the best reactions to the news.

Regardless, Dolan's vote was futile, as the rest of the owners approved the sale. It will be interesting to see the direction that Rich Schnall and Gabe Plotkin take the Hornets in. It is a franchise that has not done a lot of winning.

Dolan's Knicks have not done a lot of winning in his time as owner, but last season was wildly successful after the addition of Jalen Brunson helped the team get to the second round of the playoffs.  The Knicks seem to have built an entertaining and competitive team. The Hornets hope to follow suit and do the same.
