The Brooklyn Nets' offseason so far seems to be focused on finding Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving trades. But, they did manage to make a solid signing on Tuesday to bolster their roster, whether the star duo stays put or not.

The Nets have signed guard TJ Warren to a one-year deal, who hasn't played since the 2020-21 season due to injuries.

Via Shams:

Warren missed all of last season with a foot problem and ultimately became a free agent this summer after three years with the Indiana Pacers. Nets fans will know Warren best for his ridiculous play in the 2020 Orlando Bubble, putting on an absolute clinic in 10 games, averaging 26.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists for Indiana. Many believed he could end up being a star after that, but back-to-back stress fractures in his foot limited his playing time across the last two campaigns.

In his career, Warren is averaging 15.5 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 50% from the field. He gives the Nets another reliable scorer and if KD and Kyrie do end up elsewhere, he should have a pretty established role within the offense.

Brooklyn is taking their sweet time on a Durant trade, in particular, waiting for the best possible offer where they can acquire an All-Star caliber talent and draft capital. The Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors are currently the favorites to land KD, while Irving is expected to reunite with LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers.

TJ Warren will become a free agent again next summer but if he can prove his worth in 2022-23, an extension could come into play for him. We'll see.
