Against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant passed both Dwyane Wade and Elgin Baylor to claim the 28th spot in the all-time scoring list.

Durant reached the milestone in the third quarter of their eventual 122-116 win over the Nuggets. Apart from Baylor and Wade, Durant also blew by Adrian Dantley in the list. He finished with 34 points, nine rebounds and 13 assists, all while going 12-of-18 from the field, 4-of-7 from deep and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line.

Durant also nailed the dagger 3-pointer to seal the victory for the Nets. The win snapped their two-game skid, bringing their win-loss record to 6-6 in the young season.

Durant's milestone adds another layer to his resume as one of the greatest scorers of all time. Apart from his two NBA titles and multiple All-Star selections, Kevin Durant has also four scoring titles in his trophy case. This makes him just one of five players in NBA history with at least four scoring titles, with Michael Jordan holding the record with 10. The Nets scorer is tied with George Gervin and Allen Iverson who have four each.

In his first season back from the Achilles tear, Durant is having one of the best seasons of his career. Through eight games, the former league MVP is averaging 29.9 points for the Nets—the third-best in his career.

A lot can still happen in the regular season, but it's safe to say that Durant has recovered well from the gruesome injury he suffered in 2019. Not just that, as Nets fans seem to be witnessing the best version of KD.
