More than his poor shooting performance for the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, Kevin Durant is on the receiving end of some backlash for his defense during the final play that saw Jayson Tatum win it for the Boston Celtics.

With less than five seconds on the clock and the Nets leading 114-113, Tatum cut to the basket and spun over Kyrie Irving to deliver a tough lay-up for the buzzer-beater. As the Celtics were celebrating, fans on the NBA Twitterverse couldn't help but call out Durant for not paying attention and seemingly freezing on the defensive end when Tatum made the drive to the basket.

Why is it that no one was paying attention to Tatum? Granted that KD might have been distracted by the thought that Marcus Smart was taking the shot, but leaving the best player on the opposing team to be open should have never happened.

That crucial mistake prompted a lot of people to troll Kevin Durant and the Nets, with many saying that he glitched like in NBA 2K. Simply put, a lot of people were disappointed with his defense in that crucial period.

It certainly didn't help KD that he was abysmal in the game. It was one of those nights that his shots weren't falling in, though props should be given to the Celtics for making sure there's always a body on KD when he has the ball.

Durant finished the game with 23 points, but he needed 24 shots to reach that number–making just nine of his total attempts. Sure enough, Nets fans will be hoping for a better display on both ends from KD come Game 2.
