Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant recently guested on Bleacher Report's “Take it There with Taylor Rooks,” and one of the first items discussed on the agenda was his foiled move to the New York Knicks last summer.

In the interview, the two-time NBA champ explained why everybody thought he was going to be a Knick:

“It's the NBA. Anything can start. Rumors happen, stuff starts,” Durant said. “It's just the nature of the beast.

“Every fan on social media enjoys seeing what their team is doing as far as free agency.”

Durant has a fair point here. And in the case of Knicks supporters, they were definitely hoping that Durant would come to The Big Apple along with fellow free agent Kyrie Irving. Let's not forget that prior to the NBA Draft Lottery, the Knicks were also banking on the possibility of securing the first overall pick, and adding Zion Williamson as the third member of their new Big 3. We all know how that turned out for New York.

As for Durant, he's still rehabbing from his Achilles injury. He has been seen making progress in workout videos, but he again confirmed to Rooks that he will not be returning to the Nets this season. He's focused on getting back to 100 percent and being ready for the 2020-21 season.
