True to his word, Kyrie Irving once again opted to skip all the p0st game interviews on Sunday after the Brooklyn Nets' 119-114 preseason win over the Washington Wizards. Irving stepped on the court for the first time in nine months after a season-ending surgery ruled him out of his first year in Brooklyn. It was the first time fans got to see Irving and his new partner in Kevin Durant hit the floor together – Irving played 17 minutes and finished with 18 points while the former MVP Durant tallied 15 points in 24 minutes.

After the game, Irving continued to break the league protocol and declined to speak to the media, according to ESPN's Malika Andrews.

The 28 year old has had a love-hate relationship with reporters over the course of his career. He's been known to criticize the media for either twisting his statements or even putting words into his mouth. Prior to this season, the former NBA champion decided that he'll skip all media interactions this season which ultimately cost him and his team a $25,000 fine for violating the league's media rules.

Last week, Irving's publicist clarified that the six-time All-Star does intend to continue to do traditional media this season and that he is intent on building a mutually respectful relationship with reporters. Even Portland Trailblazers superstar Damian Lillard was egging him on and telling him that he should indeed speak to the media.

Thing is, Irving's ‘intent' isn't off to a great start as Sunday's snobby disposition might land him in some hot water yet again.
