The season didn't go as planned for Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets. Off-court issues, a mid-season trade, and now a first-round sweep have come to define what was expected to be a title-contending roster.

After the Nets season was ultimately cut short, Kyrie Irving took to Twitter to send out a message to Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics who soundly beat them fair and square.

“We didn’t get the result we wanted, but I wanted to congratulate my brothers in that Celtics locker room. They earned the series Win and I wish them well as they advance. Nothing but love competing against them,” said the Nets point guard.

Kyrie Irving was more myth than man during the early portion of Brooklyn's season. His initial inability to play due to vaccine mandates made him a major talking point throughout the season.

While both Irving and Kevin Durant lamented the lost season after their elimination, but stars maintain that there's more to life for them beyond the confines of the NBA hardwood floors. Irving followed up his message to the Celtics with message of gratitude.

The Brooklyn Nets likely won't experience the same roller coaster ride next year. After back-to-back seasons of instability, perhaps third time's the charm for the Kevin Durant-Kyrie Irving tandem.
