Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash finally revealed on Sunday that his team is preparing to play without Kyrie Irving in home games this season as he continues to hold out from getting the vaccine.

Irving then took to social media on Monday and got extremely cryptic:

We honestly can't tell you what that means, but with the caption, could he actually cave and get the jab? He did say “The return.” The picture could also have something to do with Kyrie becoming a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, the same tribe that his mother was a part of. However, at this point, Nets fans just want to know if the superstar will actually get vaccinated.

It's hard to imagine Brooklyn winning a title without the missing piece to their Big 3, especially if Irving is absent for half of their games. Not to mention the amount of money he would be sacrificing. There are a lot of factors that need to be considered, but the Nets could very well have to get by without their point guard for a lot of games. Nash has clearly got the team already in the mindset of competing with what they currently have.

It will be interesting to see how this whole saga plays out in the coming weeks.
