The Brooklyn Nets made a huge decision on Tuesday regarding the Kyrie Irving saga, releasing a statement saying that he won't be able to play with the organization in any shape or form until he gets the COVID-19 vaccine. Despite Kyrie being able to play on the road, the Nets have made their stance very clear.

GM Sean Marks also sent a message to Irving regarding the situation. Via ESPN's Tim Bontemps:

Indeed, it's ultimately his choice. But the Nets had to do something about it and from this point on, they're planning to go forward without him. In fairness, it wouldn't likely work out if Kyrie was popping in and out of the lineup throughout the year since he can't play in home games. This way, other players in the rotation will get a chance to step up and show out on a consistent basis alongside James Harden and Kevin Durant.

There's no doubt this is a tough blow for the Nets. Hopefully, Kyrie caves and gets at least one dose of the vaccine because if not, he's sacrificing a whole lot of money and the chance to win a title. It's definitely going to be a tougher road to Finals glory without Irving, but it's by no means impossible when you have KD leading the way.
