The entire Brooklyn Nets team is still baffled by the recent absence of star guard Kyrie Irving. Head coach Steve Nash also stayed mum regarding the situation and insisted that he will just focus on his coaching duties to maximize the players available at his disposal.

“Uhh, sure. Like I said, right now I got to focus on coaching this team and getting the best out of them. I can’t make any predictions or prognostications about things outside of this building,” he said via The Athletic.

Irving last played against the Utah Jazz where he led with 29 points, six rebounds, and five assists en route to a 130-96 lopsided victory. He then went missing in their next four games.

His absence was previously attributed to the recent riots in the U.S. Capitol, a societal issue on which Irving has held a strong opinion. However, videos recently circulated on him being spotted at a family birthday party together with his father and sister while also violating COVID-19 protocols.

Without him, the Nets carried on to notch a 122-109 win against the Philadelphia 76ers. They ensuingly made a short road trip to visit the Memphis Grizzles where they lost on a 115-110 defeat.

In their following game, Kevin Durant's huge outing of 36 points and 11 rebounds went down the drain as they succumbed to the Oklahoma City Thunder on a 129-116 loss.

After having multiple games without Irving at the helm, head coach Steve Nash managed to make the necessary adjustments when they hosted the Denver Nuggets. Durant came out with another noteworthy performance of 34 points and 13 assists to lead the Nets past the Nuggets for a 122-116 victory.

Away from the team, Irving was once again spotted by the public sitting in on a Zoom call of Tahanie Aboushi, who currently serves as a Democratic candidate for Manhattan district attorney, along with 200 of her supporters.

Amid the uncertain situation, Brooklyn will have to carry on in order to improve from their 6-6 record. Nonetheless, Steve Nash's recent statement could be telling that even the team doesn't have an idea of the current whereabouts of their star point guard.
